School overdose: Milonov has suggested to cancel lessons on Saturdays
The deputy from United Russia party is ready to draft the bill of cancellation of six-day system of training at schools. Vitaly Milonov has explained own initiative in the comment for "The parliamentary newspaper". He considers that cancellation of occupations on Saturdays will increase comprehensibility of material, will lower an academic load and will allow parents to communicate with children more often. According to him, the six days are more similar to an unsuccessful experiment, than to the effective schedule of training for children. The parliamentarian recognizes that school students have to gain the necessary volume of knowledge, however it doesn't mean that they need to be overloaded. He has noted that "overdose" of school hours only reduces progress level. Milonov considers the project abolishing six days, necessary. The existing system of training when the management of schools independently solves to enter six school days or to be limited to five, the deputy called sadistic. The main problem at such schedule is the lack of communication between parents and children. The politician has emphasized that the family can't fully be engaged in education of own offsprings if it sees them once a week. "Fathers and mothers can't even go somewhere for the weekend with children because these days off are absent at all" — he was indignant. It is possible to study in general and without days off, not to sleep and let out after the 11th class at once professors, the deputy syronizirovat. Many parents support Milonov's idea. Residents of Moscow area who have striven for cancellation of occupations on Saturdays became a bright example. The authorities of the Moscow region have allowed parents of school students to hold a referendum on an occasion of imposing of the ban on the six-day system of training. The action has taken place, the children now living in the region attend schools five days a week. The children's educational psychologist Aleksandra Dubinina called a legislative initiative of the parliamentarian correct. She considers that the six days deprive of school students of motivation to knowledge acquisition and exerts only negative impact on educational process. The psychologist has emphasized that even in the only day off children are forced to perform homework therefore before new educational week neither pupils, nor their parents fully manage to have a rest and be restored. The teacher has confirmed that because of six days at school students the discipline reduces, fatigue collects and also there is an alarm and unwillingness to study in general. "Five-day working week promotes good rest and raising achievement" — Dubinina summarized.
